Abstract
Through this website I will explore my fascination with Basque mythology and its profound connection to the natural world. I will highlight the captivating aspects of Basque folklore, focusing on the concept of witches and the historical witch trials in the region. The symbolic significance of the Cave of the Witches of Zugarramurdi will be discussed, shedding light on the persecution endured by those accused of witchcraft. I will also delve into prominent mythical beings like Basajaun and Mari, illustrating their roles as guardians and protectors of nature, as well as the rich oral tradition of Basque mythology and its transmission through generations.
